View the 60 Minutes Show on OSHA Dust Standard
Last Sunday, June 8 at 7:00 pm, CBS' 60 Minutes aired a show on OSHA's failure to act to protect workers from combustible dust after the catastrophic explosion at Imperial Sugar that killed 13 workers last February.

As you will recall, Congressmen George Miller and John Barrow introduced The Worker Protection Against Combustible Dust Explosion and Fire Act (H.R. 5522) and the House Education and Labor Committee held a hearing in March on the bill. (http://edlabor.house.gov/hearings/fc-2008-03-12.shtml). Tammy Miser, who lost her brother in a combustible dust explosion, appeared at the hearing, along with CSB Chair Bill Wright, OSHA head Ed Foulke, and NFPA's Amy Spencer. HR 5522 was passed on the House floor in April.
